The “Demo” tag in the panel
If a number carries a Demo tag it did not come from your account — what that means and how it goes away.
Some numbers in the panel carry a “Demo” tag, with a note at the top of the screen saying these are demo values and do not belong to your account. It means that screen is filled with sample data.
Why it exists: an empty panel does not explain the product. With zero cards, flat charts and empty tables you cannot see what the reports and filters are for. Sample rows let you actually try the screens.
These are not a fake preview — they are real rows in real tables. The reports, breakdowns and charts you browse are the product itself; only the source of the numbers is a simulation.
The way to lose the tag is to connect an ad account. Demo rows are NOT removed automatically: silent deletion would empty the screen of somebody who meant to look at it “in a minute”. Instead a “remove demo data” banner appears and you confirm the deletion yourself; only rows flagged as demo are touched.
Writing and removing demo data changes the workspace’s data source, so it requires admin permission — the same one as connecting an account.
That is the single step between you and your own numbers.Connecting an ad account
