Connection health and syncing
What Healthy, Degraded and Disconnected mean, how to trigger a sync by hand, and the three meanings of an empty table.
In the panelAccount · ConnectionsOpen this screen in the panel
Connected ad accounts are watched live: while the panel is open every account refreshes once a minute (Google Ads every two minutes) and the screen updates itself when new data lands — no page reload needed. With the panel closed, data keeps refreshing every five minutes; notifications and automations run on that rhythm. The AI agent refreshes the data again before it answers a question. The “Live” mark in the top bar shows the link is up. The only remaining delay is the platform’s own reporting lag: what the ad platform shows is what you see here.
Health states
- Healthy
- The token is valid and the sync is running. Nothing to do.
- Degraded
- The sync failed a few times but the connection is not dead. Usually a rate limit or a temporary platform error; it can recover on its own.
- Disconnected
- The token is no longer valid — a password change, a revoked permission or an uninstalled app on the platform side. Data stops, and automation rules bound to that account cannot run either.
A disconnected connection raises an alert that cannot be muted. To fix it, choose “Reconnect” from the card menu and go through the same consent screen; none of your historical data is deleted.
Error categories
“Error detail” in the card menu gives the reason for the last failed sync as a category:
- Auth
- The token was refused. Reconnecting is required.
- Rate limit
- The platform’s rate limit is exhausted. It clears on its own after a while.
- Transient
- A momentary network or platform hiccup. Expected to clear on the next cycle.
- Data
- The platform returned something unexpected. The kind of thing to put in a support ticket.
- Unknown
- Could not be classified; the detail is only in the server log.
Syncing by hand
Data already refreshes live, so you rarely need it; if you want it right now, choose “Sync now” from the card menu. A short wait (30 seconds) prevents repeated presses; if you try early the screen tells you how many seconds are left.
What an empty table means
- No account connected yet
- Setup is incomplete. The screen sends you to the Connections page.
- First sync in progress
- Data is on its way. There is nothing to do but wait.
- No data in the selected range
- A real answer: the account is connected, the sync finished, and nothing was spent on those dates. There is nothing to fix.
